What You’ll Need
Materials:
- A phone/tablet with internet (for mission videos & certificate unlock)
- 5 printed keys - or real items from nature (to become your Wonder Keys)
- A basecamp area (picnic table, blanket, tent corner)
- Slices of bread, butter/mayo and random ingredients for sandwich tasting.
- A napkin/plate/stick to write your team name on
You Do Not Need:
- Costumes (unless you’re into that — then go wild)
- Craft supplies beyond crayons
- Scorecards, timers, or worksheets
- A perfectly clean setup — this is camping. A bit of mess is welcome!
Operation Wonder Agents — FAQ
Do we need to print anything?
Nope. Everything can be done with natural items around your campsite. The certificate and keepsake printables are optional — nice to have, not essential.
But you will need a phone/tablet with internet access.
Can we do this without a real campsite?
Yes! A backyard, park, forest (even a large balcony) can work. What matters most is curiosity and a touch of imagination. Nature doesn’t have to be far away — it just has to be noticed.
What if it rains or the weather turns?
Pause the mission, move under cover, or swap in indoor-friendly items (a camping mug for a pinecone, a sock for moss). Magic can happen under tarps too. Resume when weather allows.
How long does it take?
Around one hour total — but you can stretch it out across a day or do one sense quest at a time. It’s a mission, not a race.
Is this just for kids?
Nope! Grown-ups are Camp Guardians, key-keepers, and story anchors. They can also be assigned as wonder agents. And older siblings can take on “Senior Agent” roles. Everyone plays, everyone notices.
What if my child is shy or doesn’t like guessing games?
No pressure. Kids can share their clues however they’re comfortable — with words, drawings, sound effects, or gestures. The real win is connection, not competition.
What do we do with the Wonder Keys?
You’ll collect five items during the quest — one for each sense. At the end, you’ll sort them in a final memory quiz to unlock your Super Power Certificate. Bonus: they make great keepsakes!
Can we do this more than once?
Yes! You can repeat the experience at a new campsite or on a different day. Nature always has new wonders, and no two missions are the same. But you can only renew your Camping Super Power Certificate once a year.
